What''s the point of traffic exchanges? Are traffic exchanges any good?
Posted in - SEO
A typical traffic exchange will work something like this:

You view a couple of websites and your website will then get viewed.

These traffic exchanges have a ratio like 2:1 or 3:1 as well as a time. The ratio is how many sites you have to visit and how many times your site will then be visited. This is often credited to your account as credits. So, if you view 2 or 3 websites, then you will get 1 credit in your account, which means you can get your website viewed 1 time. The timer is how long you will have to have the page displayed before being able to go on to the next site. Timers range greatly but you can expect 10 to 20 second timers.

There are also manual and auto surf programs. Manual being where the user must validate a response before going to the next page.

There are a few reasons for using traffic exchanges. One is to get others to see your site and hopefully they will be interested in it. This is NOT likely, but is a possibility. The reason it is not likely is because people are there to get their website seen, and are not typically interested in seeing others.

So, why do a traffic exchange then? For the simple reason of traffic. Just getting an increase in traffic or hits to your website can be good. Of course, you are wasting effort if you are not rotating your own website and are using some affiliate type of website, but I''ll save that for another discussion. Just know you are much better off having your own website or blog to put into rotation.

The other thing to consider is making a page for traffic exchanges. You can change it as you go and see if you get more attention and interest in your site by using different advertising means.

Do some research and find good traffic exchange sites. There are plenty that give more credits than can be used and this means surfing will stop and you will be stuck with all the credits you have accumulated.

Also, if you do not want to spend time surfing other sites, most exchanges have some low pay options that are worth considering.

Enjoy!

No Balls At All
Posted in - Politics & Governement
That''s the new progressive party. Still hiding behind George W. Bush. Still vilifying the man who protected us for seven years and gave us the best growth period in many years. Yes I know the bottom fell out in his last year mostly due to over spending. The point is the progressives have done nothing but bash Bush. That''s what the progressives call ''''change''''. So I guess we can expect more of the same old politics with a twist. So far the nominations have been less than stellar, kind of like Baracks
accomplishments and associates. Well it''s show time, the lights have dimmed and the curtain is rising. The audience is dead silent.

Bidvertiser Tips, Tricks and Questions
Posted in - SEO
I started using Bidvertiser for posting ads on my blog site two weeks ago. (For some reason that I cannot guess I was banned by Adsense) Its a good alternative to Adsense. There are both advantages and disadvantages of using Bidvertiser. I have some tips as well as a few unanswered questions about how to post ads with Bidvertiser. There are a few things I read on other sites and some of the tips worked and some didn't. Also I have added a few tips of my own. Basically these are the points I would like to discuss and please leave your comments so that it would help us...

* First of all there is no control over what kind of ads appear on your site unlike with Adsense where the ads appear according to content. Here the ads are random.
* But you have the option to choose the type of ads you like and reject the type of ads which you wouldn't want to appear on your site. And you are paid according to the amount of bids placed on ads which means you can earn as much as $0.5 and as low as $0.05 for each click.
* I selected the Vertical Skyscraper template which shows 5 ads vertically. At first five unique ads appeared for a few hours. Then all of a sudden just one ad appeared 5 times one below the other which went by the title ''Your ad here for free''. This changed after a few minutes and two to three unique ads started appearing again but the ''Your ad here for free'' appeared regularly which was very annoying.
* Now according to Bidvertiser rules if a user clicks on the same ad twice in succession it doesn't count as a valid click. And with the same ad repeating 5 times with the Skyscraper template we will not be paid if a user clicks more than once on the same ad appearing at two different locations which is annoying again.
* With that in mind I started experimenting by rejecting all ads with low bids starting from ads that pay $0.05 to $0.18 and by approving only the high paying ads. But i stuck on to the same template and this is what happened. The more ads i rejected the less unique were the ads that appeared. They got more repetitive and eventually only the ''Your ad here for free'' appeared over and over again.
* Now I tried different templates at different pages. I found out that if we use the same type of template on two different pages the same ads would appear on both pages using similar templates. And the more you reject low paying ads the less unique the ads become.
* Its better to avoid the Skyscraper template if don't want your pages to look ugly with 5 ads of ''Your ad here for free''. I also found out some important things relating to site traffic but i may be wrong there. Anyway this is what I think happens...
* Sites having high traffic get the ads with high bids and therefore those site owners can afford to reject low paying ads. They don't have to fear about repetitive ads. Now if you're just starting a new website or a blog you wont have much traffic to play with like in my case. So for people like us its better to NOT reject ads at all till our traffic improves. And its better to use different templates at different pages.
* Surprisingly there could be a problem for high traffic site owners too. Since two clicks on the same ad in succession doesn't count as a valid click even if two different users were to click on the same ad at the same time the site owner wouldn't get paid a dime!
* With all these disadvantages one good thing is you can modify the appearance of your ads to suit the appearance of your web pages and there is no limit to the number of ads you can post with Bidvertiser. But stick to only a few ads if your site has low traffic else you'll only see ''Your ad here for free''.
* And there is something new but which hasn't worked in my case. There is an option for your ads to appear at the foot of your feed posts. I have tried doing that with various codes and settings available. I have also pinged but no ads have ever appeared under my feeds. If it has worked for any of you please let me know....
* Thats all I have to say. By the way I have earned $1.82 with 20 clicks. I don't know whether thats a lot since I am new to PPC. Pls post your comments and your experience. I'll be glad to improve my earnings and I hope that some of my tips were useful and correct....

A Poem For Spiritual Encouragement
Posted in - Religion

''If Thou But Suffer God to Guide Thee''
by Georg Neumark, 1621-1681

If thou but suffer God to guide thee
And hope in Him through all thy ways,
He'll give thee strength, whate'er betide thee,
And bear thee through the evil days.
Who trusts in God's unchanging love
Builds on the Rock that naught can move.

Be patient and await His leisure
In cheerful hope, with heart content
To take whate'er thy Father's pleasure
And all discerning love hath sent,
Nor doubt our inmost wants are known
To Him who chose us for His own.

Sing, pray, and keep His ways unswerving,
Perform thy duties faithfully,
And trust His Word, though undeserving,
Thou yet shalt find it true for thee.
God never yet forsook in need
The soul that trusted Him indeed.

Getting Paid to Play
Posted in - Daily News
I read yesterday that some law firms are paying graduating students up to $80,000 a year and even benefits, to just stay home. Apparently, they do not need the students now and are not wanting to pay them a full-salary but they do not want to loose them so they are making them an offer to basically be on standby and hopefully in the near future they can bring them in full-time.

This has huge potential for problems. It is likely they will not need the new lawyers in the near future, so they will have wasted a lot of money to keep them on hold, but end up just letting them go anyway. That is the best case scenario.

A student who has put a lot of time and energy focusing on the books and exams, suddenly gets a nice paycheck and nothing to do. They are going to have a lot of fun for awhile and waste a lot of it, thinking they can because soon they will be employeed full time and will make more money but will have little time to enjoy it. So they’ll just put off the bills for now and have some fun. After all, they earned it. Then they wake up to find they aren’t needed after all. Ouch. Bad news. Even if they do end up going to work for them down the road, they will likely have a big ego and quickly miss the freedom they had before or even try to live to much and work, but still play hard and end up wasted.

A person should work to earn money. Getting payed so you might not go work elsewhere is not work.

The Importance of Your Credit Rating
Posted in - Finances
Source:http://www.savings-for-you.com/54/post/2009/05/first-post.html

With people becoming more dependent on credit, it''s crucial to understand both your personal credit report and credit score.

What is a Credit Score?

A credit score is a statistical method that''s used to determine the likelihood of an individual paying back money borrowed.

The credit bureaus that issue these scores have different evaluation systems, each based on different factors. Some take into consideration only information contained in your credit report. The primary factors used to calculate an individual''s credit score are his or her credit payment history, current debts, time length of credit history, credit type mix and frequency of applications for new credit. Because the scoring systems are based on different criteria and weighted differently, the three major credit bureaus in the U.S. (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) may issue differing scores for an individual, even though scores are based on the same credit report information.

You may hear the term FICO score in reference to your credit score. FICO is an acronym for the Fair Isaacs Corporation

What About a Credit Rating?

In addition to using credit (FICO) scores, most countries use a scale of 0-9 to rate your personal credit. On this scale, each number is preceded by one of two letters:''I'' signifies installment credit, and ''R'' stands for revolving credit.

Each creditor will issue its own rating for individuals. For example, you may have an R1 rating with Visa (the highest level of credit rating), but you might simultaneously have an R5 from MasterCard if you''ve neglected to pay your MasterCard bill for many months. Although the ''R'''' and ''I'' systems are still in use, the prevailing trend is to move away from this multiple rating scale toward the single digit FICO score. Here is how the scale breaks down:

Rating Description

· R0 or I0: You are new to the credit world, and have an insufficient credit history for making an accurate judgment of your future risk.

· R1 or I1: You pay your credit back in 1 month.

· R2 or I2: You pay your credit back in 2 months.

· R3 or I3: You pay your credit back in 3 months.

· R4 or I4: You pay your credit back in 4 months.

· R5 or I5: You have not repaid in four months, but you are not a ''9'' yet.

· R7 or I7: Your debt payments are made under consolidation.

· R8 or I8: Debt was cleared by selling item (repossession).

· R9 or I9: You have bad debt (default), which usually means is uncollectible.

What Makes up Your Credit Score?

When you borrow money, your lender sends information to a credit bureau which details how well you handled your debt. From the information in the credit report, the bureau determines a credit score based on five major factors:

1) Previous credit performance

2) Current level of indebtedness

3) Time credit has been in use

4) Types of credit available

5) Pursuit of new credit.

Why Your Credit Rating is Important

When you apply for a credit card, mortgage or even a phone hookup, your credit rating is checked. Credit reporting makes it possible for stores to accept checks, for banks to issue credit or debit cards and for corporations to manage their operations. Depending on your credit score, lenders will determine what risk you pose to them.

According to financial theory, increased credit risk means a risk premium must be added to the price money is borrowed. If you have a poor credit score, lenders will not shun you (unless it is utterly awful); instead, they''ll lend you money at a higher rate than someone with a better credit score.

Tips to Improve or Maintain a High Credit Score:

· Make loan payments on time

· Avoid overextending your credit (Unsolicited credit cards may be tempting to use, but they won''''''''''''''''t help your credit score)

· Never ignore overdue bills

· Know type of credit you have (Credit from financing companies can negatively affect your score)

· Keep outstanding debt low as possible

· Limit number of credit applications

Credit is not built overnight. It''s better to provide creditors with a longer historical time frame to review: a longer history of good credit is favored over a shorter period of good history.

Conclusion

The importance of credit today is significant; overlooking this fact can be very detrimental to your financial health. Being aware of how your credit score is calculated is essential. By following the tips laid out for you, you should be able to maintain or improve your credit score.

President Barac Obama

Today was a monumental day for America. Barack Obama the 44th President of the United States of America. A new day. How will this presidency play out is unknown. No one knows what lurks in the darkness of the future. But today there is light. And that light is shining down on us for the world to see. We as a country have over come. And as a country we are a little freer at last. Thank You MLK.
